About Real or Fake India

Thank you for visiting. This page tells you about Real or Fake India – A Consumer Safety Guide: who runs it, why it exists and how we write our guides. We think you should know who is behind any safety advice before you trust it.

Who runs this website

Real or Fake India is an independent student project by Sandeep Singh, a B.Tech CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) student. It is not a company or an official service. When this site says “we”, it means the Real or Fake India project. Sandeep is the one person behind it.

We are not affiliated with FSSAI, RBI or any government body. Nothing on this website is an official statement.

About Real or Fake India: why this site exists

This site is written for families in Delhi NCR who buy paneer, milk and honey. It is also for students and young earners who use loan apps and shop online.

We found two problems with the advice online. Many pages were very short. They did not link to official sources, and they did not explain what a home check cannot tell you. Also, much of the advice on loan apps came from commercial blogs, where the main aim can be to sell something.

We wanted one calm, simple place that shows where each fact comes from and is honest about its limits.

How we write our guides

Every guide follows these simple rules:

  • Official sources only. We take facts from official websites and link to them, so you can check them yourself.
  • Last-checked dates. Each guide shows the date we last checked it against those official pages.
  • Limits stated clearly. Home food checks are screening only. This means they can give an early hint, but they cannot prove that food is pure or safe. We also remind you never to eat a sample you have tested.
  • No brand accusations. We never call any brand, seller or app fake. We teach general warning signs instead.
  • No paid promotions. We do not accept money to feature or recommend anything.
  • Simple words. We use short sentences and explain any technical term once.

Corrections policy

We are a student project, so we can make mistakes. Official rules and pages can also change. If you spot an error or an out-of-date detail, please tell us through our contact page for corrections and suggestions. Share the page link and what needs fixing. We will check it against the official source, then update the guide and its last-checked date.
